Doing triathlon seriously without taking ourselves too serious

We, both members and members, hereby commit ourselves to convey and defend these values:

TRANSMIT a positive image of our sport and our club through our exchanges with the natural and legal persons we meet. Words, acts or positions which adversely affect the image or functioning of the BTC could lead to sanctions that go as far as exclusion.

WORK continuously towards the development of all BTC members, regardless of their sport ambitions, level of practice, age, social condition, origin, religious or sexual orientation.

RESPECT the rules and ethics of sport in general, banning any form of cheating, not using doping substances or products, acting with fair play and respect for others.

DEVELOP a club spirit (see below), while seeking to advance each individual member.

PRESERVE the environment, both in training and competition, and when we organise sports or festive events.

SPIRIT OF THE CLUB

  • Maintain a sound and inclusive approach to competitiveness.
  • Aim at healthy emulation.
  • Cultivate values of mutual respect, sporting and other solidarity, courtesy, friendship, mutual encouragement, moderation, discretion.
  • The BTC does not cultivate the side “have you seen”, frimmer, “dikke NEK or stoeffer”, which can be fostered by the image triathlon can have in the neophytic audience. This does not exclude dynamism, originality, “flammable” personalities.
  • Our historical slogan that creates the club’s identity is ‘do triathlon seriously without taking ourselves too serious’.

The BTC is concerned about its IMAGE and its reputation, both internally and externally. It will take steps to ensure that they are complied with.
